Former O’Brien Fellow appointed as UNB’s next chancellor

 The O’Brien Foundation is proud to congratulate Wade MacLauchlan on his upcoming installation as Chancellor at UNB-Fredericton’s Fall Convocation on October 19.

Wade studied business administration at UPEI, and law at UNB as a Beaverbrook Scholar and received the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal at graduation. He was awarded an O’Brien Foundation Fellowship in 1982 to pursue his masters in law at Yale, after which he taught at both UNB and Dalhousie Universities. He subsequently served as dean of law at UNB and President and Vice-Chancellor of UPEI.

Over his illustrious career, Wade has made significant contributions in a wide variety of endeavours in addition to academe, including outstanding contributions in politics and public policy.

The O’Brien Foundation applauds Wade’s passion for education and his commitment to lifelong learning, which epitomizes the values and goals of The O’Brien Foundation.
